Keswick is an accessible escape to seclusion.  Located just 32km northeast of Mackay, Queensland, it is easily reached by plane or boat.

For information on flights from Mackay to Keswick Island, contact Keswick Developments.  For helicopter charters, contact Whitsunday Helicopters.  Note that the Keswick Island airstrip is a private one; therefore, if you plan to fly to Keswick, prior authorisation will be required.  Please contact us for more information.

By boat

Keswick is also accessible by boat.  A mobile jetty is situated in Egremont Passage, and nearby moorings area available to visitors at a small fee.  Refer to the Boating, Sailing & Kayaking section for further information.  Be aware that Keswick Island experiences significant tides, which at times can impact access to certain areas of the island.

Megaforce Charters also provides boat transfers to/from Keswick Island (ex Mackay marina) most Saturdays and Sundays (and by arrangement for larger groups outside these days).

Getting to Mackay

Air travel to Mackay from any capital city in Australia has never been easier, with a number of airlines servicing the region.  Mackay is services by rail from Brisbane and Cairns, with various stops.  Frequent coach services to Mackay are available, including services from Emerald, Nebo, Moranbah and Clermont.  If you choose to self-drive to Mackay, it is approximately 11 hours drive from Brisbane and 8 hours from Cairns.  For further details of transport options to Mackay, visit the Mackay Tourism website.
