Keswick Island Day 4 63

Treasure this.

Building is easy.

As with any high end residential development, there are guidelines and caveats that govern its overall character, and usually they are quite specific to the project and its location.

The same applies to Keswick Island. Bordering an amazing National Park, there are strict priciples of design and construction that have been formulated in conjunction with the Queensland Government. Along with general construction engineering relating to building in the tropics, these are the only restrictions and they certainly do not constrain your development and design ideas and dreams.

Materials Delivery and Machinery

Keswick Developments has built a comfortable and easily accessible builders and tradespersons accommodation village adjacent to the airstrip, workshops and barge-landing facility.

Its the barge that makes deliveries to and from the island such a breeze. Everything is loaded onto the barge at the loading facility in Mackay Harbour. Keswick's landing ramp is relatively new, caters for virtually all tides and has been specially constructed to handle large heavy loads and machinery.

Well maintained heavy machinery already on Keswick includes a prime-mover, excavator, tip truck, bobcat, front end loader, mini-digger and 4 wheel drive vehicles. All these and motorised golf buggieis are available for hire at extremely competitive rates.

These island facilities greatly reduce costs of transport to and from the mainland, and thus have a direct bearing in reducing your building costs too.
